Drawing For Animators Fall
Some DFA work from last fall. This squid character came up early in the year and I really like him. So I used him for the Environment project.
As it turned out, I like him so much that I decided to use him again, only this time with a friend. I paired him up with a cute little girl for a tea party. Originally I wanted to make him small or about her size, but my teacher urged me to play with contrast in size.

Silhouette and Waiting Animations
Both of these are from last fall. The first is an assignment where we had to animate three emotions given to us randomly using Artie's silhouette. Mine were evil, curious, and flirty, if I can remember correctly. There are some good parts to this one, though I got the note that I made him act too much like a girl.
The second is the waiting assignment where we had to make Artie wait for something. He also had to interact with a prop. That little coin gave me no end of trouble.

2D Dance
Oh geez, here's a really old one I dug up. The dance assignment from 2D class. We were given a song and told to animate a character dancing to it. This one is pretty rough and I really regret not having enough time to give her some detail. But it's still passable I think.
Artie Animations
Just some old Artie animation exercises from sophomore year. The head turn, the walk, and the take. My teacher thought it was funny I put a take in the head turn assignment and vice versa.

Ode to Dad
This animatic also lacks a real story and was done as a present for Father's Day. This was my first time recording my own music as well as making an animatic based on a song. So at the time, it presented an interesting challenge. I'm grateful for it now considering my current thesis idea is musical as well.
Also, this was another chance to develop Nacie as a character.

Old Sit Stand Project
This is fairly old, all the way from sophomore year. I really love WWII style, so I made my character an Woman Ordinance Worker (WOW). She has frequently been mistaken for Rosie the Riveter, but her name is actually Edith. Her character sheet is below.
